Job Description
A Roll Off Driver will be responsible for safely operating a heavy commercial truck to provide prompt and courteous delivery and removal of large containers. This position will require to enter and exit the truck multiple times throughout the day to secure loads, hook and unhood boxes, and check equipment.
Qualifications
. One (1) year of prior experience driving heavy trucks.
. Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brakes endorsement.
. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude to be able to do perform minor repairs to containers.
. Must be able read google maps, navigate around the city.
. Must pass a DOT drug screen, and background check, which includes previous employment
check, criminal history, and a motor vehicle record review.
Responsibilities
. Perform complete pre- and- post operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with
Company policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls
are in proper working order. Report any safety issues on standard reports.
. Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all
times to minimize down time.
. Maintain a clean vehicle by cleaning cab interior and exterior of vehicle.
. Safely operate his or her heavy truck along designated routes and to the disposal site, read
route sheet, follow map and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as
assigned by the Supervisor.
. Must dispose of the waste at the Landfills the customer is assigned to unless Supervisor
approves differently.
. Courteously interact with all customers, and others on a daily basis to ensure all customer
routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner.
. Complete required route sheets and other paper work as required.
. Identify and report all containers in need of repair and replacement.
. Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
. Communicate any potential hazards in servicing/picking up the container to the Supervisor.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employees is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions (in some conditions extreme heat, cold, wet, and dry). Employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
