If you’ve been watching what the new Nvidia RTX Super graphics cards are doing to the high-end gaming market -- so many amazing cards suddenly within reach -- you know this is a great time to go in on that gaming PC you’ve always wanted.

But you don’t need some $2500 supercooled RGB light show PC sporting a processor with more cores than anybody knows what to do with. Sure, that gets you some future-proofing. But Intel’s i7 processors are already so future-proof, that you can take any of them from around fourth gen onward and pair it with a current monster GPU. No bottlenecks. Like this guy did.

That means, that for the cost of one component in those $2500 rigs, I can set you up with a PC that’s just waiting for the graphics card of your choice. (Why worry whether the card came from a mining rig? You buy it new and plug it in. Or bring it over if you’re new to this.)

Here’s what I’m selling: a seller-refurbished Dell Optiplex 9020 MT lightly modified to hold a 750-watt fully modular 80-plus Silver-rated Silverstone power supply. It’s got an i7-4770 (or 4790, if you prefer), which clocks up to 3.9 GHz in Turbo mode. That’s more punch than a current-gen i5. It also features a 240GB SSD boot drive (optional for $30), a 3TB hard drive, and 8 GB of 1600 MHz RAM (still plenty for every game in 2019, but capacity is 32GB if that changes).

For no fuss, I recommend going with a “mini” version of your preferred card -- Zotac and EVGA both have some great ones on sale, including the new Supers -- as the slot is only 10.5 inches long. However, if you want a full-length card, I’m happy to knock out the hard drive cage for you and reposition the disks to the optical drive bay -- no charge.

I’ve run these guys through all the OEM quality control tests, and installed a fresh copy of Windows 10, activated and updated. The price is $350.
