Overview:
Smart International, Inc. has been in the plastics distribution / recycling business for 26 years. We help to recycle hundreds of pounds of plastic each month out of our 100,000 square foot facility each month. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for the right candidate to assist in the operation and administration of the warehouse.

Compensation and benefits:
Salary range ($40,000 - $47,500) varies depending on experience/qualifications
80 hours paid time off, increases with seniority / 10 paid holidays, starting after 3-month probation period
Up to 15% bonus depending on performance

Responsibilities:
Daily responsibilities will be split 30% Warehouse Maintenance / 30% Warehouse Administration / 40% Operational Logistics
Warehouse Maintenance
- Become familiar with warehouse equipment and conduct maintenance of warehouse equipment according to a regular schedule.
- Conduct research and documentation on new maintenance functions as needed.
Warehouse Administration
- Conduct research into new and used equipment, present findings, and organize the purchase, maintenance, and selling of various equipment.
- Keep track of inventory levels and create purchase requests for miscellaneous warehouse and office supplies.
- Research, set up, and facilitate contractor visits on a project basis.
- Perform occasional off-site to retail shops visits to purchase spare parts, tools, or other items on occasion.
- Collecting samples of materials from the warehouse and assisting in delivering packages to the Post Office when necessary.
- Assist with warehouse HR functions and other miscellaneous duties.
Logistics-Facing Administration
- Keep track of and communicate plans and statuses of various production stations and shipments to management.
- Data entry and review of inventory moving within the warehouse.
- Deliver and collect shipping lists, Bills of Lading, and other paperwork between the Warehouse and Office.
- Assist the logistics team with fielding and screening incoming calls as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong time management, ability to prioritize, and ability to organize information.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, particularly in the context of communicating with contractors and the warehouse staff.
- Comfortable communicating with outside parties over phone and email.
- Experience or willingness to learn to work with tools and machinery to perform maintenance and light repair duties.
Optional Qualifications:
- Experience working in a warehouse or administrative setting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Microsoft Access
- Experience working with or around semi-trucks, dry van trailers, or intermodal containers.
- Experience with scheduling or working with contractors.
