The RN is responsible for working closely with program and clinical staff to provide health care services for our adolscent clients.
Ensure the medical support provided is in compliance with program policies and procedures make suggestions for improvements when needed, and manage and operate the medical clinic efficiently.
Ensure specialized medication regimens are adhered to, as required.
Consult with staff on pre-admission screenings as needed.
Complete a Nursing Assessment with 24 hours of patient's admission.
Monitor each patient admitted for potential withdrawal symptoms for the first 72 hours upon admission.
Document Nursing Assessment and patient charting in the Electronic medical record in a timely manner.
Assess patients current prescribed medications & consult with the MD as needed.
Provide individual & group health education for Odyssey House clients.
Train designated staff to properly supervise client self-administered medication process.
Conduct patient chart reviews and peer to peer charts reviews.
Participate in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings.
Accurately diagnose and treat minor client health problems.
Establish positive relationships with physicians and maintain a network of health professionals to assist in providing client medical treatment.
Report potential communicable diseases to the public health authority as required. Oversee disposal and inventory of medication.
Supervise and ensure disposal and inventory of medication.
Uphold the core principles of Cenikor's culture and help create a positive working environment for all team members.
Maintain strict confidentiality on all client and foundation matters and refer questionable issues to your supervisor.
Perform additional duties as assigned and consistent with the non-exempt functions as defined in this job description.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of pharmacology as it relates to individuals with substance abuse and mental health disorders.
Knowledge of the therapeutic community philosophy preferred.
Excellent assessment and communication skills.
Experienced in providing medical care to a diverse ethnic and cultural population.
Possesses good time management skills needed to meet aggressive deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
Patience, perseverance, and resilience in a challenging environment. Presents a professional, positive image.
Capable of performing job responsibilities in a professional manner.
Excellent documentation skills.

High School Diploma or GED
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Minimum of three (3) years nursing experience preferably in providing care for individuals with alcohol and substance abuse, mental health and chemical dependency treatment.
Current licensure as RN
Current certification in CPR and First Aid
