I consider myself a guitarist first and foremost. I can also write lyrics, drum beats and bass lines too. Looking to do a black metal thing or something blackened and/or melodic like blackened death/thrash/grind/folk metal.

Here's a link to an EP album of Melodic Death Metal songs I made with my band Starvation (my bandmate is on vocals for the album):

We consider the track "Trayastrimsa" to be our best track:

Here's a link to a blackened deathgrind demo song I have recorded (the sound of the song is a cross between the bands Necrophobic and Repulsion):

Please read further, as I explain in detail the kinds of musicians I am looking for.

I want to be very upfront with the kinds of musicians I am looking for as I am incredibly particular. First off, I do not like any kind of mainstream metal (I consider Metallica's black album as a good representation of what I mean), metalcore/deathcore (or any of the "cores" and "djent"), overly technical wanky metal including any soloist "shredder" type stuff like Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani, Buckethead...etc (early Suffocation is as technical as it gets for me), any kind of power metal (with the exception of early Iron Maiden/Judas Priest), or any metal released in the last 20 years or so (with some exceptions).

Instead, I like old school extreme underground metal from the black/death/thrash/grindcore genres with cool twisted looking band logos, badass album artwork, epic lyrics (about darkness, history, philosophy, mythology, spirituality...etc) and gritty, murky and raw guitars, which sound many times more brutal and dark than the bands with crystal clear productions and cleaned up distortion guitars on their recordings. Basically, the kinds of bands that get accepted for entry on the Metal Archives website and are favored by the community there.

Here is a list of bands that represent my taste in metal and the only kind of style of metal I am interested in playing (I almost always prefer the early material from all the following bands; for example, if I had to pick between Kill 'Em All or the Ride the Lightning albums versus the Black Album I would pick Kill 'Em All or Ride the Lightning albums. As for Slayer, I don't like anything by them after their Reign in Blood album):

The following primary influences of mine are from Sweden:

Bathory, Dark Fortress, Dark Funeral, Dawn, Dissection, Grave, In Flames, Lord Belial, Månegarm, Morbid, Necrophobic, Sacramentum, The Moaning, Vinterland

Other primary influences of mine geographically outside of Sweden:

Agressor, Amorphis, Ancient Rites, Angelcorpse, Bolt Thrower, Bornholm, Deicide, Enthroned, Emperor, Kreator, Malevolent Creation, Mayhem, Morbid Angel, Venom, Sarcofago, Sodom, Suffocation, Terrorizer, Varathron, Windir, Repulsion, Assuck, Extreme Noise Terror, Immolation, Tormentor, Destruction, Artillery, Autopsy, Baphomet, Benediction, Brutality, Carcass, Napalm Death, Gorguts, Incantation, Jungle Rot, Massacre, Master, Motorhead, Morgoth, Obituary, Razor, Sepultura, Slayer

Folk metal influences:

Doom/stoner metal influences:

I have only been able to get into one band from this subgenre, and it is the band Sleep!
