This is a 1984-1987 Squier by Fender Stratocaster upgraded with a full set of Seymour Duncan Antiquity Surfer pickups.
Part of the E Series family, this Olympic White Stratocaster was made in Japan just after the beloved JV Strats. These early Japanese models are highly sought after for their exceptional build quality and faithfulness to the original Fender design.
This Stratocaster is no exception. It's built exceptionally well and really does feel, play, sound and looks like a vintage model. The original Olympic White finish has naturally aged over the years to a lightly yellowed patina which is in turn beautifully complemented by the dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and 1964-65 style wide-bevel mint green pickguard.
The aged Antiquity pickups, full-size aluminum shielding plate, genuine Fender vintage tremolo assembly, vintage reissue nickel "FENDER" stamped bridge saddles, pickup covers and knobs complete the vintage look and character.
Highly reminiscent of the Fender '62 vintage reissue series with a very comfortable medium C neck that plays beautifully all the way up and down.
The frets have been professionally dressed and still have a good deal of life in them. The original Gotoh tuners work smoothly and hold the guitar in tune nicely. Whammy bar works as it should. Upgraded electronics including new wiring harness with capacitors & pots, Oak Grigsby 5-way switch and a full set of premium Seymour Duncan Antiquity Surfer pickups.
Overall really great condition with light wear here and there. Has been professionally setup at Rockin' Robin Guitars and comes with a very nice Fender G&G hardshell case (including both keys).
Loaded with the Duncan Antiquities and upgraded electronics, this 40 year-old Stratocaster plays and sounds wonderful in all positions. Just like an early-mid 60's Strat should sound!
This is a wonderful guitar. I'm only selling her because I have more guitars than I need and she deserves to be played and loved much more often than I can. Will include a nice Korg CA-30 chromatic tuner.
