For sale is a sweet early 2000s Fender Japan "Crafted in Japan" Telecaster in eye-catching Candy Apple Red with a factory-installed Bigsby vibrato.
Built around 2002–2004 in Japan (confirmed by the "Crafted in Japan" neck heel stamp and Q-serial), these CIJ Teles have a legendary reputation for excellent build quality, comfortable necks, and tone that rivals (or beats) many modern Mexican and even some American models.
This one features:
• Classic Tele single-coil pickups for that signature twang, bite, and sparkle
• Factory Bigsby B5-style tailpiece with roller bridge — adds awesome vintage wobble for country, rockabilly, blues, or just some expressive vibrato without sacrificing stability
• Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard (standard for this era)
• Pearloid pickguard, chrome hardware, and the iconic spaghetti logo headstock
• Solid alder body with glossy red finish that still pops.
It’s been played and loved, so there’s some honest wear: light scratches and dings on the back and edges (typical for a 20+ year-old guitar), but nothing structural. The frets are good, electronics are quiet and original, and the Bigsby works smoothly. Neck is straight, action is comfortable, and it stays in tune well.
These Japanese Teles from the CIJ era are highly sought after for their fit, finish, and playability. The red + Bigsby combo is especially cool and not super common.
Local pickup preferred in the Angleton / Greater Houston, Texas area.
