We are looking for a skilled, self-managed Shop Technician to join our team in Spring, Texas, to assemble high-performance valve systems and custom instrumentation packages.
Position Overview
As a Shop Technician, you will be responsible for building, testing, and assembling mechanical and pneumatic control systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with light valve assembly, instrument manifolds, and precise stainless steel tube bending. This role requires someone who can work independently, interpret technical drawings accurately, and maintain high standards of quality control.
Key Responsibilities
Assembly & Integration: Assemble control valves, actuators, positioners, and related instrumentation according to technical specifications.
Precision Tube Bending: Measure, cut, bend, and install small-bore stainless steel tubing (typically 1/4" to 1/2") for clean, professional instrument routing.
Drawing Interpretation: Read and accurately follow mechanical blueprints, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and assembly drawings.
Quality & Testing: Perform visual inspections and pressure/leak testing on completed assemblies to ensure zero-defect performance.
Shop Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Manage personal workflow effectively to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Proven hands-on experience in valve assembly and instrumentation setup.
Technical Skill: Strong, demonstrable experience with stainless steel tube bending (hand or bench-mounted benders) with an eye for clean layouts.
Blueprints: Ability to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings and schematics.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly, stand for extended periods, and perform precise manual tasks.
Work Style: Highly self-managed, reliable, and detail-oriented. You take pride in the quality and appearance of your finished work.
