We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join a logistics and warehousing team. This role involves managing the movement, storage, and distribution of materials within a busy warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in forklift operation, materials handling, and warehouse management systems, ensuring efficient and safe operations. Responsibilities
Safely load and unload materials using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks in accordance with OSHA safety standards.
Prepare orders for shipment by accurately picking items with RF scanners.
Maintain inventory accuracy through proper documentation and regular cycle counts.
Assist in shipping and receiving activities, ensuring timely processing of incoming and outgoing goods
Load and unload materials efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
Support warehouse management system updates to track inventory movements and order statuses
Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage layouts and improve workflow efficiency
Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling
Skills
Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related roles
Skilled in operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for order picking and inventory control
Strong mechanical knowledge related to material handling equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards applicable to warehouse environments
Experience with heavy lifting techniques and proper use of mechanical aids
Ability to perform order picking accurately using various tools including pickers
Background in construction or industrial environments is a plus
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced settings while maintaining safety standards
