We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to join our facilities management team. This role involves supporting the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of building systems and equipment across various departments. Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on facilities equipment, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
Conduct repairs using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as schematics and ohmmeters.
Assist with electrical work including troubleshooting electrical equipment repair and wiring tasks.
Support HVAC system repair and maintenance to ensure optimal climate control.
Carry out plumbing system maintenance and repairs, including leak detection and fixture servicing.
Execute painting projects such as maintenance painting and residential painting to uphold interior aesthetics.
Maintain building interior spaces through carpentry, drywall repair, and general facilities upkeep.
Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and manage inventory.
Supervise or assist with small teams during complex projects or repairs when necessary.
Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or tenants.
Follow safety protocols diligently while working with electrical equipment, plumbing systems, or heavy tools.
Experience
Proven experience in facilities maintenance or related roles within manufacturing or commercial environments.
Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience; familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is advantageous.
Hands-on expertise with hand tools, power tools, schematics interpretation, and electrical equipment repair.
Experience in HVAC system repair and building interior maintenance.
Knowledge of plumbing system maintenance and repair procedures.
Prior supervisory or leadership experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Familiarity with CMMS software for work order management is a plus.
Ability to read technical schematics and use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively.
Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate tasks efficiently across teams.
Demonstrated ability to perform maintenance painting and general facilities upkeep while adhering to safety standards.
