We are seeking a highly skilled Steel Dismantling & Torch Cutting Crew experienced in working at elevated heights and cutting structural steel for industrial demolition and dismantling projects. This team will safely dismantle steel structures using oxy-fuel torch cutting systems, mechanical cutting tools, and rigging equipment while strictly following OSHA safety standards.
This role requires individuals who are physically capable, safety-focused, and experienced with industrial demolition, structural steel cutting, and elevated access work.
Key Responsibilities
Perform torch cutting (oxy-acetylene/plasma) on structural steel beams, columns, trusses, tanks, and frames
Safely dismantle steel structures at ground and elevated levels
Operate man lifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and elevated platforms
Use mechanical cutting tools including:
Angle grinders
Reciprocating saws
Chop saws
Shears
Properly rig, secure, and lower cut steel sections
Maintain proper fire watch procedures during hot work
Follow all OSHA, fall protection, confined space, and hot work safety regulations
Identify and mitigate structural hazards before and during dismantling
Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
Inspect and maintain cutting equipment and PPE
Communicate clearly with supervisors, crane operators, and safety managers
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2–5 years of experience in:
Structural steel cutting
Industrial demolition
Torch cutting operations
Working at heights (20+ feet)
Proficient with:
Oxy-acetylene & plasma cutting systems
Power cutting tools
Rigging and material handling
Must be physically capable of heavy labor and working in elevated environments
Comfortable working in:
High heat
Confined spaces
Outdoor industrial conditions
Certifications & Training (Preferred or Required)
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (Construction or General Industry)
