Selling a young 2 year old eastern tom turkey to finish thining the excess males out from my flock. I'm selling him for $150.
I'm a licensed breeder who does this as a hobby and for meat and eggs. Please know that a game bird breeders permit is needed to propagate, and sell wild turkey or their eggs in Texas.
These birds are being sold for those wanting to raise these birds as a breeder, raise around the farm or as meat birds. They don't get as big as the broad breasted or domesticated meat turkeys. But still make good table fair when you feed them out before processing.
They've been pen raised and are not suitable for release into the wild, which is illegal in the state of Texas. So don't attempt to purchase with that intent as it's not worth the fine, nor waste of money as the birds don't have the survival skills to survive in the wild. Pen raised turkeys can also transmit diseases to wild populations of turkeys, so not a good idea to let roam free where there are populations of turkeys in the area.
