Panaderos are a focal point at Ema, they give an interactive experience to our guests while we prep and mold pan dulce.


EMA HTX IS COMPOSED OF TWO CHEFS AND A COFFEE ROASTER. OUR GOAL IS TO BRING QUALITY FOOD, PASTRIES, AND COFFEE TO THE HOUSTON HEIGHTS AREA WHILE HOLDING SPACE FOR OUR ANCESTRAL TRADITIONS, BELIEFS, AND PRACTICE THROUGH OUR FOODS. WE UPHOLD THE INDIGENOUS LINEAGE WE DERIVE FROM BY SHOWCASING THE HISTORY OF OUR CULTURE THROUGH OUR CRAFT AND CREATIVITY. THE SOURCE AND INSPIRATION OF OUR WORK COMES FROM MEXICO AND THE LATIN AMERICAN GASTRONOMY. OUR STORY IS INTERTWINED WITH MEMORIES, NOSTALGIA, TRAVEL, EXPERIENCE, AND OUR LOVE FOR MEXICO.


Qualifications & Expectations:
- Food Handler Certification
- Ability to work early morning shifts and arriving prompt to work
- Passionate about baking, cooking and motivated to learn Mexican pastry
- Experience with following & reading recipes/formulas
- Knowledge on using a scale
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Experience with cooking techniques & safe knife skills
- Must be open to clear communication with Chefs & our team
- Must be able to work independently after thorough training
- Ability to bake, prep & mold bread that is scheduled day of and next day service
- Prep any mise en place needed for menu dishes
- Assist in cleanliness of pastry room, pastry designated areas, receiving and storing away pastry ingredients.



Consistent work schedule (unless changed by request of Chef)
Thursday-Sunday: 4am-12pm
Monday: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
