A well established Houston-based wedding and event band is interviewing for 2-3 assistants to help with setup and teardown at events. No prior experience necessary. Setup consists of 2-2.5 hours of work before the event begins (usually 3 hours before guests arrive). Setup includes unloading the truck (very little if any heavy lifting as all items are in cases with wheels), arranging items with the stage design, assembling mic stands, running and taping down cables, moving cases to storage room, etc. Teardown is 1-1.5 hours at the conclusion of the event and consists of wrapping cables, placing items back in their respective boxes, and loading the truck. All events you can setup, leave, and come back later for teardown (and if only one works with your schedule we can often accommodate that).
Houston and surrounding area events have event pay range of $80-$140 total for setup and teardown (max of 4 hours) with overtime rates as well. There will be one general training meeting.
This is IDEAL work for someone looking to get better at pro audio and learn more about events. Future opportunities with the band might include audio engineering (mixing) at events and possibly helping with DJing as we often have someone to DJ along side the band. Also a great gig for a couple/two friends as you can coordinate getting to the gigs.
It's an incredible and fun-team and very supportive working environment. Please send an email with resume and any other additional information you might find helpful. PRO TIP: because I likely receive a lot of responses, and write up about you or resume is helpful in making sure you stand out.
We could use someone as early as this weekend (May 23rd) in Houston.
