Is a critical Access database holding your business together, and nobody on staff fully understands it anymore?
I fix and rebuild the kind of legacy Access systems that quietly run companies: databases that crash or corrupt, applications that have outgrown what Access was meant to handle, forms and queries and VBA written by someone who left years ago, month-end reports that take a person days to assemble by hand.
I work two ways depending on what you need:
Keep it alive. Stabilize the existing database, fix the corruption, repair the broken VBA, document how it actually works so you are not one person away from disaster.
Move it forward. When Access has hit its ceiling, I migrate it to something durable: an Access backend moved to SQL Server, or the whole application rebuilt as a proper modern system. I am a C# / .NET developer as well as an Access specialist, so I can both maintain the legacy database today and build its replacement, which a pure Access contractor cannot offer.
I also handle Excel VBA work when it is part of the picture.
Background: 15+ years of professional development, deep Access experience, plus SQL Server and modern .NET. Past contract work for a Fortune 500 energy company. Independent contractor, selective about engagements, available now.
Send me a short description of your database and what is going wrong with it, and I will tell you honestly whether it is a quick fix or a rebuild, and what it would take.
