I have a fossil winged bug and a fish. These both are from SW Wyoming, the Warfield area, which is the most common and popular location for fish fossils. These are from the Eocene Green River Formation, which was a paleo lake that had numerous fish kills due to an anaerobic water layer near its bottom that killed and preserved anything that fell into it. Lots of very nice fish fossils from there as well as other small animals such as insects and even a bird or two. These were both verified through the Houston Gem & Mineral Society.
