The popularity of Henning Mankell's Wallander series and Larsson's "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" has provided American readers great introduction to Scandinavian writers who offer mysteries and detectives who deserve wider audiences.
The three hard-back Lars Kepler novels here feature some 1500 pages of Detective Joona Linna resolutely pursuing psychopaths and more ordinary criminals in Sweden, using unorthodox thinking and methods and spilling blood in the process.

Hakan Nesser in the paperback "Woman with Birthmark" has a more conventional Chief Inspector Van Veeteren working through the psychology of a murderer while on a suspense-filled trail.

Jussi Adler-Olsen has created the older Detective Carl Morck and his cold-case Department Q whose trio of investigators are probably better known for personal quirks as they are in solving old cases. Humor is sprinkled in the action and suspense. Rumor has Department Q being taken up by Netflix with a re-set from Copenhagen to Scotland. This can work with these good stories. Both are hard-back books.

Mari Jungstedt is a popular Swedish writer with these paperback translations giving English-language readers access to unique plots and fast-paced resolution, even with taking over 300 pages in each to get there.

All books are read only once with no broken spines, dog ears, or markings. Will sell individually but offer the whole lot for $20.
