Rare -NISHIKI- American Eagle - Semi Pro Size / 58 cm
Serial # KS145340
One of the early introductions of the Nishiki brand for 1972 first brought to America, via California.
This is one of the late 1971 Kawamura built frames assembled with some 1972 date coded components for the debut of the transition to the name NISHIKI from the beloved incredibly well built Japanese Road Bikes previously available under the name American Eagle. This bike , carrying both names, with The Nishiki head badge, and American Eagle decals is one of the desired rare YELLOW versions.
Other than the new tires, tubes, and handlebar wraps ( which is necessary for the age, if you wish to ride the dream) this is about as original component wise as you can get for a great example of Vintage Steel Road Bike History. It even has its original saddle, and rear bike rack (with original American Eagle labeled rear reflector).
This bike was acquired and completely disassembled and restored 3 years ago as part of a large personal collection of Vintage Road bikes owned by somebody who due to current health has decided to place the herd up for sale. He put less than 3 miles on the bike. It is fully tuned. This beauty is ready to become another bike enthusiasts incredible memories. Christmas is close.
