Because of his long coat, Hobbes will also need regular grooming.

These were rescued with the Mother cat when the Kittens were 1 week old. They will be 6 weeks old on Saturday and are already litter trained and eating Kitten Chow. Last night I realized that there is a group of feral cats living in my apartment complex near the dumpster. They appear to be litter mates and are about three years old according to the owner who turned them in to BARC. They have lost a little weight while at BARC simply because they aren't sure they want to eat very much of the Science Diet dry cat food that is available at all times. They need to be surrounded by people, not other cats!

There is a dog that showed up at our house this past Saturday and thinks he found a home. Unfortunately we do not have a fence and we have on a corner lot. He has been hanging out in our garage and front porch. He thinks he lives here and will guard til the death. Sweet...sweet dog. He is short with a block head (perhaps 30-40 pounds). Looks like a chow, boxer, pit mix. He is a really good dog however we dont have the money to put a fence up and I am afraid that he might get hit by a car. Two dogs were hit here last week. Let me know if you are interested otherwise I have to send him off to Houston Humane Society. I did call animal control but they have not responded to getting him picked up. Abandoned Park Puppies (Hungerford)

Four weeks ago, we got a call from our vet asking us if we wanted to take care of some abandoned puppies that had just been brought in. Apparently they had been left in a box at the park, at such a young age that their eyes weren't even open yet! We brought them home and have been feeding and cleaning these babies ever since, and they're finally ready to go to homes of their own.

They've been wormed, vaccinated, and bathed (repeatedly, lol). We still can't really gauge the adult size of the puppies, and are mistified by their mix of breeds. They will be cute though :)

Without further jabbering, here's the puppies:

Meadow Lark - This young women has the shortest fur, which you can kind of tell from the picture. If she's this cute now what will she look like when she's grown up?

Robin - This little girl has the longest fur length, and one of the cutest faces to boot.

Cardinal - The only boy out of the four puppies, we thought he was pure white when we first got them. Then, we started seeing cream--everywhere! Well, just on his ears and on either side of his face.

Blue Jay - A sweet girl with medium length fur, she's sure to be heart breaker. After all, she's the only one with perfect markings :)

Question: What breed are they?
A: We think that their coloring could point to a rat terrier mix, but they seem like they're bigger than a rat terrier puppy would be. We've had husky mix suggested, because of the face mask, but it doesn't match up for the spots on their backs. It's probable that one parent was long hair and the other short hair, because of the short and long haired puppies, but that doesn't really help. Labs are really common around here, and might be the reason for the short haired puppy. When the puppies get older and start showing more adult characteristics (fur type, ears, tail carriage, face structure, ect) you'll be able to tell more.

Q: How big will they get?
A:Sizewise we also are a little in the dark. Puppies at this age are all around the same size, but they're probably at least medium size dogs, not toys. But that is a probably, and we'd be able to tell for sure by 9 weeks, as a small dog would stay about the same size, where as a large breed puppy would just keep getting bigger.

I need to find a good home for my cat. She is a 2 year old Cornish Rex (although she doesn't have a lot of hair and kind of looks like a sphynx). She is spayed and up to date on her vaccines. She tested positive for FIV, so she needs to go to a home with no other cats or with other FIV positive cats. I got her from a breeder in Arizona who was devestated to find out she had FIV, but she doesn't seem to like me at all. She started spraying in my house. I spoke with the breeder and she was shocked to find this out, because she never did this at her house. She was checked for a urinary tract infection and the vet said it was behavioral. She loves my friend who visits reguarly and purrs and sits on her lap, but since talking to the breeder, I discovered that the woman who owned her before had red hair (same as mine) and sounded a little like me. I'm guessing that is where her dislike for me came from. I am devestated......because I'm a BIG cat lover and just want her to go to a place that makes her happy. I am willing to pay for the immune support tablets she gets (not to worry...the are chewable tablets and she eats them like treats)!! I am looking for a home to permanently place my two adult cats. Although they are cute and sweet... I would really prefer that someone can accomodate both of them, but I understand that may not be possible.

I am moving to Spain in a couple of months and am unable to bring them with me, so regretfully I have the hard task of trying to find a loving, peaceful home for them. If you are looking for a couple of companions that are very low maintenance but very loyal and loving, then please respond. Here's the background on them and a little info on their personalities.
Chloe (Female~8 years old~ short hair) is the multi colored Tabby & Pocket (Female~4 years old~ medium hair) is the smaller black and white cat.
I have had Chloe since she was 1 year old, I adopted her from a shelter. She is fixed, 100% cat tray trained. She has been an indoor cat since I have had her, she is declawed. Chloe is such a social cat, she loves people and can't resist a good belly rub and a little catnip. She is more timid around little kids and it takes her a few days to get used to other pets. She is a very loving cat and ideally I would want to place her in a quiet home, she loves to be near people. Chloe is a big cat, like over 14 lbs big. But she is a beautiful cat and very playful, even as she ages.
And now to Pocket. I found Pocket near a freeway exit in Houston when she was maybe 2 months old. She was so small that she could fit into, you guessed it, a pocket. Hence her name that stuck with her, she has always been a really small cat, maybe about 5 lbs. She has also been kept as an indoor cat with me. Pocket is a really shy cat, she gets along well with my other cat Chloe but she is quick to scatter away if introduced to new people or pets. She loves catnip too, that tends to bring her out of her shell! She is also cat tray trained.

Neither of my cats have ever been interested in table food. They are quite happy with their dry indoor formula cat food and water. They are low maintenance cats but each with their own personality.

The second is a female, red pit-bull/lab mix. She is very sweet and playful, she gets along with all people and animals she doesn't walk very well, but she loves to run on open land and will come when you call her.
Both dogs are house trained. We love our dogs very much and it is very difficult to give them up, but recent circumstances have caused it to be very difficult to give them proper care and we want them to be happy.

Flea market? Carnival? Avoid the baby turtle (Texas)

If you're on vacation (or at the flea market or carnival), resist the urge to buy one of those little green baby turtles often sold in tourist areas. They may be little and cute and cheap, but despite what the seller might say, they get BIG. They will grow bigger, and they need more care than you think. And it's illegal in all 50 states to sell a turtle under 4" to the public. Period.

Those little green baby turtles are most often red-eared sliders or cooters. They can grow to be 6-12" for sliders, and 8-14" for cooters. Aquatic turtles need roughly 10 gallons of water per inch of turtle, so a grown slider needs AT LEAST a 55 to 75 gallon aquarium when full grown, plus high-powered canister filters for the water, heat lights, and UVB lights. And, a slider can go from baby to 4" in a year or two, and live 20 years or more. And it's illegal to release a pet slider to the wild, as they could cause problems for native turtles.

Do yourself a favor, skip the baby turtle this summer. If you want to help, if you see baby turtles being SOLD or given as a carnival prize, report it to the regional FDA office (all 50 states).

We have a male savannah monitor that is a little over a year old and 2 1/2 foot long.He is a very healthy eater. We are only re-homming him no cage. The rehoming fee is $70. These reptiles do need alot of attention. You will need knowledge or previous experience for this big baby. We will be asking questions about your knowlege so we can be sure he goes to a good home and have the proper care he needs. Also, to make sure he will live to his full potential.

I have a sweet 6 month old calico cat, Chloe. I adopted her and her brother at 10 wk old kittens and now due to the move have to find her a permenant home since the place where I am staying has residents allergic to cats. She is very sweet and timid at first, but will warm up to you with love and gentleness. Her brother went to a home today so she is a bit shocked right now but still the same purring motor boat. Would do best with a single person or family with gentle kids. Is used to being played with rough but is more comfortable with less active people. Also not fond of dogs. She runs at the first sight of them. I am moving at the end of next week and desperately need to find her a home. She is not spayed either so there will be no rehoming fee assuming you will have her spayed since the animal population is out of control. Please contact me if interested. When adopted, the new owners will also rcv the litter box, bag of cat food, bowls, and few toys i already have. Thanks!

This is Andy.....he was part of a large rescue last Spring. He has been with his foster mom for a long time but her older dog is very sick and now he is back at the shelter. He is very scared but such a sweet boy and he has come such a long way. He will need alot of attention and love. He really needs to go in a home with another dog.

A pregnant mommy cat showed up in our backyard and before we could get her to the vet the next week to get neutered, she had precious kitties. We now have her fixed but can't keep the kittens because we have lots of doggies and kitties already. We are taking them to the lake with us for a week, Saturday 19th until the 26th in their giant cat condo from Dallas. They are fun and loved to be held.They are very shy right now with others since it has been just my husband and myself giving them attention. The dark gray is a female and has long hair. She is a little more relaxed with others.The light gray is a male and very shy but they both love to play with each other and wear themselves out.I am hoping to find someone that wants them both. They are litter trained and love to eat dry cat food.I have given
them their flea meds and ear tick meds from my vet as a preventative. I am looking for animal loving people that will get them neutered ASAP. We are keeping the mom now that we had her fixed but are really hoping the kittens find a loving home together. My cell is 469 826 3415.
