Guitarist/vocalist starting a new band (Pearland/Houston)

I want to start a band with some like-minded/interested folks. I have been playing guitar and singing for several years. I also play some keyboards, am trying to learn violin, and would like to learn the banjo. I don't know where this will lead, but hopefully we can have some fun and get a few gigs around town. I have a PA at my house where we can practice. I'm open to quite a bit of influences as long at it stays within the general parameters of my influences (below). I'm not a big cover band fan, although I realize this gets the gigs. So I think it would be great to start learning covers and then start writing some songs. If you want to be a part of a band that can grow from humble beginnings, this is your chance. Serious inquiries in the vicinity of Pearland please.

Influences: Blues, folk, rock; Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Wilco/Uncle Tupelo, Arcade Fire, and all those local street musicians who have more talent than many of the mainstream artists.

so heres the deal. my band just split today, im just starting on keyboard but i am decent i play guitar and im a vocalist. i know another guy who is both a great drummer and guitar player. and another great bass player. we would like to continue to work on stuff together but either way we all want to continue on our music careers. i personally can say this is my life. im dedicated to music before anything, im a quick learner and always try to keep a good attitude. i have pro gear (guitars,stack, etc) although my keys are kinda cheap haha. i have some recordings of my vox but i would honestly say they do no justice. i played in a screamo band. i have a decent scream but im more on singing. so if you need members hit me up or if you need one of the other guys i can get you in contact with them. thanks.. oh ya and we are all 21-22

The piece that looks to have come off is a dust cone. It can be simply glued back in place with a good quality glue, super glue would work fine. This keeps dust from getting into the voice coil area. This also garantees that an ample amount of air is forced through the gap between the voice coil & fixed magnet assembly to cool the coil. Folks don't realize how much heat can be dissapated from a coil. If you are feeding 100 watts of power into a speaker, think of what a 100 watt ligh bulb does. Not quite as hot but heat is generated. There are a couple of companies in the Houston area that do speaker work & I've used them both. One is Allen speaker & the other is called Speaker Surgeon. You should be able to find either with a Google search. Good luck.

If you are a group who just started or been in the music for a while but just need more plays and Profile views to your myspace I can Hook you up on some good numbers for a very low price.
