I am a 31 year old woman and in the process of relocating up to or around Killeen to spend time with my boyfriend before he deploys to Iraq next year. This includes looking for job, etc, so it is taking longer than I had planned for.

In the meantime, I'm stuck on a month to month lease here in The Woodlands that's financially crushing me. I would like to get out from under it with a 30 day notice as soon as possible, but need a furnished room from the time the 30 day notice comes due until I can get on my feet up north. (All my stuff, save for clothes and small personal items will already be up in Killeen.) I don't expect this process to leave me in this temporary room for more than a month or two (at the very outside.)

I have a steady job with a company I've been with for over eight years now. I'm quiet. I'm not around at all on the weekends (I'm up there) and get home sometime between 5 and 8 in the evening on weekdays and, if necessary, can pretty much keep to myself then - so you'll hardly even know I'm there.

What I'm looking for is a room with a bed, a set of drawers and/or a closet, and has internet access (wired or wireless, it doesn't matter. I can even bring my wireless router and set it up for the time that I'm there. Did I mention I'm a bit of a geek?).

I am allergic to cats, but if the right person/room came up, I'm willing to live on Benadryl for the duration of this arrangement. Dogs are no problem, big or small. I am neat and clean up after myself. I don't smoke (anything), but as long as the place doesn't reek of smoke, I don't really care if you do. I'd prefer no 420 was around while I was there, but right now beggars can't be choosers. I'm a light drinker on the weekends, but it's not an issue since I won't be around on weekends. Female preferred, but not necessary. This is a strictly platonic arrangement. I feel weird saying that, but this is Craig's List after all.

So, anyway, if you have a furnished room you can spare from the end of August until the end of October, at the latest - please send me an email with some information about you and the place. I am looking for a roommate to share my home in the Galleria area. It is a one story home with a yard and it has 3 bedrooms, an oversized study, 2 full bathrooms, and a 2 car garage. I have a few expectations for a roommate and I am certainly able to return them as well.

1) I need someone who can AND will pay their rent and utilities each month in a timely manner.

2) Clean up after yourself and your guests.

3) Maintain reasonable hours.

4) I would prefer a young professional or student between the ages of 22-39.

5) Male or female is acceptable.

6) Be able to provide a clear criminal background report. No misdemeanors or felony convictions.

7) Have good credit and/or rental history.

8) Provide proof of consistent and dependable work and income history.

What does the roommate get in exchange for satisfying these expectations?

1) A bedroom, a study or 2nd bedroom with both closets (large enough room to also be used for your own den area), a full bathroom, and a garage space with remote door opener, full sized W/D, and you may add your own phone line or cable TV if you wish. I also have a second refrigerator available if this is easier.

2) This home has each of these utility expenses each month. I have listed the low-high, and monthly average for each one. Each of these figures would be split equally.

a) electricity $47-250, $160

b) gas $20-60, $30

c) water $35-45, $37

d) wireless internet ($30.41 fixed)

Your estimated average portion of the monthly utility expense would be $128.

3) I will maintain the lawn and shrubs and be responsible for any related expenses.

PETS - I may accept a small dog or cat but I would prefer no pets. I will likely require that you keep your pets in your room while you are gone and there will be at least a $250 pet deposit.

I am not interested in having a roommate with other frequent and regular overnight guests: including boy/girlfriends or children.
