Hardware / Firmware Engineer Job Description:
A small, fast paced technology client of ours in Pensacola, FL, has an immediate opening for a Hardware / Firmware Engineer for a 6 month contract position. Qualified Hardware / Firmware Engineer candidates must have at least 3+ years of experience and must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
Hardware / Firmware Engineer candidates must also have ORCAD experience (Schematic Capture, PCB Layout) and C/C++ experience.
The Hardware / Firmware Engineer will contribute to both the hardware and firmware designs for products.
Essential Functions for this position will include:
1. Hardware Design
- Utilize OrCAD PSPICE for simulation
- Use OrCAD Schematic Capture and Layout for PCB generation
- Document requirements, test procedures and results
2. Firmware Design
- Develop embedded firmware utilizing C/C++
- Utilize IAR Systems based products for code compiling and troubleshooting
Preferred experience could include experience with small consumer electronics (i.e. cell phones, beepers, i pods or other similar electrical products) or an individual who worked as a tech previously and returned to school to get their degree.
